Dr. Howie Brauer attended Baylor University for his undergraduate studies and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. While attending Baylor he pursued his passion of running and was a member of two Southwest Conference Champion cross country teams. His passion for running evolved into a desire to compete in triathlons.
He continued his interest in the sciences and working with his hands by attending the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry where he met his wife, Joy Brauer D.D.S. and earned his D.D.S. (Doctorate in Dental Surgery). His desire to practice dentistry revolves around the patient and service.
Some of his hobby highlights include finishing the Arizona Ironman triathlon in 11 hours and 37 minutes in 2005 and a single digit golf handicap. His current passion is mountain biking. He recently finished the Leadville Mountain Biking race (100 miles in one day)! Lately he spends a lot of time caring for and playing with his young daughter who is the Drs. Brauers’ first child as of fall 2005.
Dr. Howie Brauer is also a member of ADA (American Dental Association), AzDA (Arizona Dental Association) and AAGD (American Academy of General Dentists).

Dr. Joy Brauer earned her undergraduate degrees from Southern Methodist University (SMU), where is received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Initially planning a career in medicine, she discovered her passion for dentistry while working for both an oral surgeon and orthodontist following college.
She completed her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the University of Missouri – Kansas City, where she met her husband, Dr. Howie Brauer. Together, they relocated to Arizona to be closer to family and to establish their practice, where Dr. Brauer is dedicated to helping patients achieve beautiful, healthy smiles in a comfortable, caring environment.
Dr. Brauer is an active member of the American Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), the American Dental Association (ADA), the Arizona Dental Association (AZDA), and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). She is proud to be one of only three dentists in Arizona to be accredited by the AACD – an accomplishment that recognizes excellence in cosmetic dental artistry and clinical skill.
Her expertise has been featured in Dentistry Today and The Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry, where she has written on topics related to aesthetic and restorative dentistry. Dr. Brauer is also passionate about dental photography and teaches continuing education courses to help other dentists elevate their clinical documentation and presentation skills.

We would like to see you maintain your natural teeth for the rest of your life. When this is not possible we will work with you to replace them with the best aesthetic and functional restorative dentistry that is available.
We will help to educate you on what is occurring in your mouth and will discuss how to maintain good oral hygiene or what is needed in order to get your mouth back to a healthy state. We encourage you to ask questions about the treatment that you need so that you will have a good understanding of your oral health. We will listen carefully to your needs and we will work together with you to find the best solutions for any dental problems that you may have. We would like to come to a mutual understanding that this is your mouth and we are here to help you maintain good oral health.
